Top Ten Books I Read In A Day

It’s Tuesday which means it’s time for a new Top Ten List. This meme was created by The Broke and The Bookish and the theme this week is books that you’ve read in a day. I am definitely guilty of binge reading. Although usually this happens in spurts.

Unfortunately, thanks to my busy schedule I don’t not get to read books like this much. However, when a book hooks you, it just hooks you. We all have those books that we cannot put down. Some of these books I did not complete in a full day, but I’ve read 90% of them in one day. On with the list!

1. Cinder by Marissa Meyer (The Lunar Chronicles #1)

My friend Kim recommended this series to me and I’m so glad that she did. To be honest, I wasn’t sure if I would like it or not based off of the summary. I’m so glad Kim gave me that push though because as soon as I started reading it, I could not put it down. After I finished, I immediately went to the library the next day to pick up the second book.

2. Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum

This one was very cute and I could not put it down strictly because I needed to know who our mystery man was. If a contemporary is cute, I tend to fly through them and this one was no exception. If you want to know more of my thoughts please check out my review for this book here.

3. Meant To Be by Lauren Morrill

This is another contemporary romance that features a mystery man, as our main character, Julia, starts receiving random romantic texts from an unknown number. Seriously, anytime this theme is involved I’m immediately hooked. Aside from our mystery man, I really loved that this book’s backdrop was London. I believe I read this shortly after I studied abroad in London, so it was also very nostalgic read for me. Unfortunately, I did not have an awesome romance like Julia does.

4. Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare (The Infernal Devices #3)

When I was first crafting this list, this book immediately came to mind. First of all, I love this series. Second, I will never forget my reading experience with this book. This was one of the books I had started but finished the rest in one sitting. Not only was I completely hooked, but it was an emotional rollarcoaster. I specifically remember finishing it at 3AM sobbing. I was so emotional that when I went downstairs to fetch a glass of water, I had woken my mom up and she was very concerned about me. I assured her I was fine, just fiction tearing me apart again. To this day I have not read a series or a book with as satisfying of an ending as this one.

5. The Selection by Kiera Cass (The Selection #1)

I have talked about this series before in a top ten list, but I had to include it here. I say again, these books are such crack and I’ve read many of them in a day. I chose the first one because I had picked it up when it first came out. I specifically remember finishing it so quickly and being so disappointed that I had to wait a year for the next one. It was awful.

6. P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han (To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before, #2)

This is another series I have talked about before. I figured since I gave the first book some love, I would give the second some love too. Jenny Han just knows how to write a good contemporary. I know some people didn’t love this one as much as the first, but I read it in a day and loved it. It was super cute and gave me lots of feels. A third book to this series is coming out soon and you can bet that I will be reading it.

7. Airhead by Mega Cabot (Airhead #1)

This concept was just really cool to me. I also picked this book up for $1 at my favorite used book store and figured I’d give it a go. I’m so glad I did because I ended up really liking this book. I would classify this as unrealistic realistic fiction as our main character switches bodies with another person. Weird, but kinda cool right? The humor and romance quickly had me obsessed with the story.

8. Uncommon Criminals by Ally Carter (Heist Society, #2)

This series is one of my all time favorite. I love the fact that it’s fast paced, fun, and features thieves. Another series that is unrealistic realistic fiction which is probably my favorite genre. As you probably know I love heist novels and this one is probably my favorite of the series. Definitely one that I was sad to read in a day, because I wanted the reading experience to last longer.

9. Bloodlines by Richelle Mead (Bloodlines, #1)

This series is a spin-off of Mead’s other series Vampire Academy. I know that vampires are kind of yesterday’s news, but this series will always be a favorite. I picked up this book on a whim because I liked the main one and it had Adrian in it. Adrian is such a cool character so it was nice to him developed more in this series. I was not expecting to love this as much as I did. I actually need to reread the whole series because the final book came out a year after I finished reading the series. I cannot remember what happened because I read them so fast.

10. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas (Throne of Glass #2)

This series is another that I was not expecting to love as much as I do. Celaena is just such a kick butt female lead and I loved reading her story. I picked the second one in the series because I’m pretty sure I read it the fastest. After finishing the first book, I immediately dove into the second because I could not get enough of this world. I’m super excited and scared for the final book to come out.

Those are my top ten books that I read in a day. I would love to hear what some of yours are  so leave a comment down below with your favorites. If you also read any of these books in a day let me know too!
