Top Ten Anticipated Releases for the Rest of 2017!

This week on Top Ten Tuesday, an original meme created by the lovely folks at The Broke and the Bookish, we’re talking new releases. Specifically releases that come out in the second half of 2017. I’m not gonna lie, it was challenging crafting this list because so many big books have already come out. Somehow I managed to come up with 10 books that I’m looking forward too.

1. Lucky in Love by Kasie West (Release Date: 7/25/17)  lucky in love

I’m excited for this book for two reasons. One, it’s Kasie West and I’m addicted to her books. They’re always really adorable romances and I devour them like crazy. Two, this book features an Asian American love interest which I’m all about. I can’t wait until I can get my hands on a copy of this book.

2. Once and for All by Sarah Dessen (Release Date: 6/6/17)once and for all.jpg

Sarah Dessen is an author I have been reading since I was a teenager. I’ve read most of her earlier books and thoroughly enjoyed all of the ones I’ve read. For some reason I have yet to pick up some of her more recent releases such as Saint AnythingHer most recent release sounds like a ton of fun though and I’m excited for it to come out. Also I’m writing a short story that takes place at a wedding so I’m looking to read other things like it. This seems like it might be a good fit.

3. What to Say Next by Julie Buxbaum (Release Date: 7/11/17What to say next

I really don’t know too much about this book aside from the fact that it’s written by Julie Buxbaum and is about two struggling teens. I really enjoyed Buxbaum’s other novel, Tell Me Three Things. It was adorable and a ton of fun. You can check out my review here. So I’m interested to read more by her. Plus I really like the cover!

4. There’s Someone Inside Your House by Stephanie Perkins
(Release Date: 9/26/17)there's someone inside your house.jpg

Stephanie Perkins is another author that I have enjoyed in the past and am looking to read more from. I’ve only read her contemporary romances, so I’m really interested to see how she writes horror. This book just seems like a good time. Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on an arc of it at BookCon. Fingers crossed.

5. Kat and Meg Conquer the World by Anna Priemaza
(Release Date: 11/7/17)Kat and Meg conquer the world.jpg

I found this debut novel roaming the internet looking for recent releases. What hooked me about this book was that it was about two girls becoming best friends. I’m all about books that revolve around female friendship. I also love the cover and it has been getting a ton of rave reviews on GoodReads. I can’t wait!

6. Roar by Cora Carmack (Release Date: 6/13/17)roar

This is another one I stumbled upon. I have been hearing a ton of people who are going to BookCon talk about it. YA Fantasy is something that I’ve recently gotten into. This one seems interesting and the plot is certainly drawing me in.

7. Murder, Magic, and What We Worby Kelly Jones
(Release Date: 9/19/17)

Okay, so the first paragraph of this synposis immediately hooked me into wanting to read this book:

The year is 1818, the city is London, and 16-year-old Annis Whitworth has just learned that her father is dead and all his money is missing. And so, of course, she decides to become a spy.

Seriously? This book has my name written all over it and I can’t wait for it! I was lucky enough to recieve an ARC from Netgalley for this book! Thank you Random House Children’s publishing for approving my request. I plan on reading it a little closer to the release date. I have a feeling I’ll fall in love with it.

8. Wicked Like a Wildfire by Lana Popovic (Release Date: 8/15/17)

wicked like a wildfire.jpgAnother random find, but it looks super good. This is the first book in a YA fantasy series that revolves around two sister’s who have the ability to manipulate beauty. Apparently there is a curse on their family and there is more to their magical ability then they know. It looks super interesting and I like books that deal with sisters and family relationships. I’m definitely interested!

9. The Girl with the Red Balloon by Katherine Locke
(Release Date: 9/1/17)the girl with the red balloon

I’m excited for this book for one reason, time travel! I love books that deal with the subject. I fully blame Hiro Nakumura from the TV series Heroes for this obsession. He’s the man. Back to this awesome book, I love when books mix genres. This is a blend of historical fiction and science fiction and balloons. I’m really interested to experience this world and see what it’s about. This is another book that I have also received an ARC for. Thank you to the publishers for that! I can’t wait to delve into it.

10. Renegades by Marissa Meyer (Release Date: 11/7/17)renegades.jpg

This is hands down my most anticipated release for the second half of 2017. It is probably my most anticipated release for 2017 as a whole. Marissa Meyer is one of my favorite authors of all time. I absolutely adored The Lunar Chronicles (still have to actually finish Winter) and I am so pumped for this book. It sounds like a super cool world. Seriously, I am so excited for this book.

Those are all of the book releases I’m looking forward to for the second half of 2017. I’m waiting to read the two ARCs I am lucky enough to have until closer to their release date so you’ll be able to check out the book if you want. Typing up this list has only made me more excited for them. Seriously, I wish I had some of them in my hands to read.

Please let me know if you’re also looking forward to any of the books I’ve listed. Share the ones you’re looking forward too as well! I’m always looking for more books to add to my never ending TBR.

    • Really? That’s so funny! We apparently share the same taste books. I can’t wait for Renegades!! Ahhhhhh😫 I’m going to BookCon this weekend so I am praying there will be arcs (though I doubt that will be a thing!) Thanks for reading 😊
