June TBR

Unlike most months when I pick a bunch of books that I’d like to get to, this month I want to leave my June TBR pretty open. Why? BookCon is this weekend.

BookCon is a book convention that I will be attending. I’m super pumped because a lot of my favorite authors are going to be there. I’ve attended this event in the past and every time I’ve gone I’ve come back with a ton of books. I know that this year will be no different. I’m not sure what ARCs and books I’ll be getting, so I want to wait and see. I might come away with a book that I immediately need to dive into, who knows?

That being said, there are a couple of books that I would like to get into this month. So without further adieu, let’s get to my TBR.

1. The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George — Okay, so Book Club thankfully was postponed, so I have a little more time to finish this. It was last month’s Book of the Month, and I kept putting it off, thanks to ACOMAF. I’m hoping to be done with it today, that way I don’t have to worry about it anymore. This is an adult book that revolves around this man who owns a bookstore in a barge and is experiencing grief. It’s definitely a book meant for book lovers and I have been enjoying all of the book references.

2. 13 Reasons Why by Jay Asher — This is another book that got away with from me this month. My friend Bella and I planned to buddy read it, but it turned out to be a busy month for her. We’ve decided to read it at own pace now. I’m hoping to finish this so that I can finally dive into the Netflix series. You don’t know how many people have told me that I need to watch it.

3. The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson (Mistborn #1) — Another book that was on last month’s TBR that I didn’t get to. There’s clearly a running theme in my TBR. This is the first book in the Mistborn trilogy. I want to read it purely because there’s a heist. I love heists. I’ve read about 70 pages of this book and put it down for like a few months, because I got distracted. I really need to get back to it, because I was enjoying it a lot before I put it down.

4. A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas (ACOTAR #3) — This is the third and final book in the ACTOAR series. There will be three more books that follow other characters, but this is the last one from Feyre’s perspective. I just finished A Court of Mist and Fury and absolutely loved it. I think I might like this series more than the Throne of Glass series. I think I just like the characters in this series more as a whole and they’re so well developed. Bella and I are going to try this whole buddy reading thing again with this book, and I’m so excited we’re doing this. I’m afraid to read it, but excited and know that reading this will give me all of the feels. It will be nice reading this with someone so I can express them in the moment.

Those are the four books I would like to get to this month. I know it doesn’t seem like a “light” month, especially for me who usually averages to 4 books a month. But two of these I plan to knock out pretty earlier which leaves room for more books. We’ll see what I actually get to though.

As for BookCon, I will be live tweeting and instagraming. So if you want to follow along with me, you can check out my twitter and instagram handles on the side bar. I also will be posting recaps and showing off some of the swag I got. I’m SUPER excited for this weekend and already know it will be a blast.

What is on your TBR for this month? Are any of the books I mentioned also on your TBR for the month. Let’s chat about it in the comments.

  1. I’m so jealous that you’re going to Bookcon! Have a great time! Also, I’m really excited to see what you think about The Final Empire. I want to read it so bad, but I’m intimidated by its size.

  2. I only slowly warmed up to ‘The Final Empire’ but after a quarter or so, I couldn’t put it down anymore. After that I read all of Brandon Sanderson’s books and never looked back 😀 He’s a great writer and I hope you enjoy his works as much as I did 🙂

    • I’m about 100 pages into ‘The Final Empire’ right now and am enjoying it so far. I really like stories that have a “team” and a sucker for thieves. A few of my friends love his work so I’ve decided to hop on the bandwagon lol. What is your favorite work of his?
